Professional Tutor
Alex holds the remarkable achievement of graduating no.1 in his cohort from the prestigious Durham University in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE), a course which has placed Alex as a uniquely multifaceted tutor due to its demand for a mastery in mathematics, language, analytical and essay-writing skills combined.
Having worked with students from a variety of cultures and backgrounds, Alex brings charisma, passion and professionalism to his delivery of mathematics and economics for JTC Education.
Tutoring Approach
Alex recognises that his own academic success is owed, in great part, to an ability to break down examination specifications/syllabi effectively. As such, while enjoyment of the learning process is at the forefront of all Alex’s teaching, this is underpinned by a reverse-engineered approach stemming from ‘what is a mark scheme asking for’ to what is the necessary framework for a student to get there.
For his teaching in economics, Alex aims to break down and provide essay structures that can ensure the optimal collection of all KAA and evaluation points. For mathematics, Alex leans on BitPaper interactive whiteboard to share repeatable steps for mid-level topics, and broad problem-solving insight for those that are most complex.
