As an Oxbridge medical graduate, Macky blends his identity of professional tutor with that of part-time doctor. His teaching journey began in 2019 and has evolved into catering to STEM students from KS3 through to Medical School, from the UAE and across the world. Sharing the study techniques he used to achieve his own academic success, Macky aims to build and link the foundations of STEM subjects with exam techniques to help students unlock top grades. Beyond preparation for final exams, Macky enjoys nurturing the professional skills vital for those poised to journey deeper into a career in STEM.
Macky boasts an extensive background in education with his students spanning ages 8 to 23, across all STEM subjects up to GCSE/MYP level, and with a specialisation in Biology and Chemistry thereafter. Since his career in education, Macky has further taken up the mantle of President for the Cambridge Medical Education Society. In this capacity, he often leads informative lectures and small group sessions tailored to junior medical students. It is through this role that Macky has gained unique insight and experience with alternative teaching modalities in higher-level STEM.
Macky is an incredible science tutor, he taught me all the content in such a short amount of time, I was surprised that I could understand science to that extent, I always found science hard to like and understand but Macky really simplified it for me and as a visual learner he really helped me by using pictures and diagrams to explain everything. I started liking science and wished I studied sooner!
Macky has really helped my son gain much more confidence in his academics and school, allowing him to reach his potential. By supporting him as a tutor but also as a mentor, Macky provided my son with the necessary academic confidence to succeed.
My son was initially quite nervous for his exam and asked Macky if could provide some guidance in the weeks leading up to the exam. He went out of his way to discuss what concerned him and offered to support him outside of teaching hours to ensure he felt ready to tackle the exam. I really appreciated his kind and encouraging words and support for my son.
