Our website uses cookies and similar tracking technologies to improve functionality, analyse usage, and enhance your experience. This Cookie Policy explains what we use and how you can manage your choices. It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser when you visit a website. They allow a site to remember your actions and preferences over time. We also use related browser storage (such as local storage) for similar purposes; for simplicity we refer to all of these as "cookies" below.
Categories we use
- Necessary cookies — required for the site to function properly (for example, remembering your cookie choice and protecting our forms from spam). These cannot be disabled.
- Analytics and session-recording cookies — help us understand how visitors use the site, including which pages are viewed and how visitors interact with a page (clicks, scrolling and navigation). These are optional and only set with consent.
- Microsoft/marketing-adjacent cookies — some of our analytics tools (notably Microsoft Clarity) also set Microsoft identifiers that can be used across Microsoft services, including advertising. These are optional and only set with consent.
Cookies and local storage in use
We use Google Tag Manager to load and manage the tools below. Google Tag Manager does not itself set tracking cookies.

Analytics and session recording — Microsoft Clarity
Microsoft Clarity records anonymised playback of how visitors interact with our pages (clicks, scrolling and navigation) and produces heatmaps, to help us improve the site. It sets the following cookies, some of which are Microsoft identifiers that may be shared across Microsoft services:

|---|---|---|---|---|
_clck | Microsoft Clarity | jtceducation.com | Persists a Clarity user ID | ~1 year |
_clsk | Microsoft Clarity | jtceducation.com | Links page views into a single session | ~1 day |

MR | Microsoft | c.bing.com | Indicates whether to refresh the Microsoft identifier | ~7 days |
SRM_B | Microsoft | c.bing.com | Stores the Microsoft identifier | ~13 months |
Retention periods are set by the relevant provider and may change; for the authoritative, up-to-date list see the provider policies linked under Third-party cookies below.
How we manage consent
We use Google Consent Mode to control when optional cookies are set. By default, analytics and advertising storage are switched off until you make a choice, and our analytics and session-recording tools (Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity) will not run or set their cookies until consent is granted.
Visitors located in the UK, EU, EEA or Switzerland are shown a cookie consent banner on first visit, allowing you to accept or reject non-essential cookies. Until you make a choice, non-essential cookies are not set. Your choice is stored for up to 365 days.
Visitors located elsewhere may have non-essential cookies set by default; you can still disable them through your browser settings.
You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for our site, which will cause the banner to reappear, or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser. Note that disabling necessary cookies may affect site functionality.
Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use to run and improve the site:
- Google — Tag Manager and Google Analytics (Google Privacy Policy, how Google uses cookies)
- Microsoft — Microsoft Clarity analytics and session recording (Microsoft Privacy Statement, Clarity overview)
- Cloudflare — Turnstile, used to protect our forms (Cloudflare Privacy Policy)
These third parties act under their own privacy and cookie policies, which you can review on their websites.
Updates to this Cookie Policy
We may update the list of cookies and our cookie practices from time to time as we add or change tracking tools. Changes will be reflected in the "last updated" date at the top of this Cookie Policy.
