Tutor Profile

Beth.

An Oxford graduate with a First Class degree in Engineering Science, Beth has recently completed her research doctorate. Following a stellar A Level performance, achieving straight A* in Mathematics, Further Mathematics, and Physics, she spent eight years at Oxford — as a student, lecturer, admissions interviewer, and marker — giving her a rare insider view of the standards and expectations that underpin top-tier academia.

Having worked with students across the full academic spectrum — from those building foundations at KS3 to engineering undergraduates at Oxford — Beth focuses on developing strong problem-solving skills, mathematical fluency, and study habits that help students see that academic success is within their reach.

Beth
Tutoring Experience

Beth has been tutoring since 2021, teaching Mathematics and Physics from KS3 through to A Level across all major exam boards. Alongside this, during her time at Oxford, she delivered tutorials to undergraduates as a Stipendiary Lecturer, teaching across multiple year groups, writing and marking mock examinations.

Her experience extends beyond teaching into university admissions. As an Engineering Science admissions interviewer at Jesus College and St Peter’s College, Oxford, she assessed UCAS applications and interviewed prospective students, and worked as a marker for the Physics Aptitude Test (PAT) — experience that further strengthened her insight into high-stakes academic assessment.

Now working as a full-time professional online tutor, Beth brings the same rigour and clarity to her teaching. Her focus now is on building strong foundations with younger students, developing problem-solving skills, mathematical proficiency, and an effective approach to learning.
