At JTC Education, all our tutors must pass an interview to ensure they are au fait with the latest tuition technology and on-board with the JTC teaching process.
Thomas says: “History and other humanities disciplines can be challenging, and require individual approaches for different students. Using a skill-based approach I can make the content engaging whilst also ensuring that students are well placed to deploy their new knowledge when it comes to exam time. A key role of a tutor is bringing what can seem like dry academic text to life, and I hope to be able to use my passion for the subject to enliven my sessions. Once the content is engaging, learning the necessary exam skills becomes far less of a burden! Subjects like history necessarily require more tailored approaches, and I enjoy working with students to figure out what’s going to work best to help them achieve their aims.”
Outside of tutoring Thomas enjoys rowing and cycling, as well as learning more about obscure Middle Eastern political history!
Thomas graduated from the University of Oxford in 2019 with a BA (Hons) in History after attending Dubai College, achieving 10 A*s at GCSE level. Thomas has since been tutoring A level History online, more recently gaining experience in GCSE tuition too.
